Helios: Artwalk Callout

Wednesday 28 July, 5pm-8pm

This summer, WX will host Helios, a giant inflatable sun artwork by internationally renowned artist Luke Jerram, suspended from the ceiling of our main hall (The Shed).  

To celebrate this, we are inviting artists, makers, and creatives from across the district and region to take part in a special community exhibition for Artwalk Wakefield on Wednesday 28 July.

Artwalk is Wakefield's bi-monthly evening celebrating art, performance, music, heritage and culture, taking place on the final Wednesday of every other month. Embracing multiple venues from local landmarks to shop-fronts and bars, Artwalk visitors ("Artwalkers") are invited to explore a range of creative events which take place throughout the evening.

Buskers & Street Performers Callout

Summer 2026

We’re looking for talented performers to bring energy, creativity, and animation to our outdoor canopied area throughout the summer!

Whether you’re a musician, magician, dancer, spoken word artist, or another type of street performer, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note, this is not a paid opportunity, however you are welcome to collect tips and sell merchandise.

We welcome performers of all backgrounds, with a special interest in artists from Wakefield District and West Yorkshire.

There will be 2 slots on each Thursday, Friday,  Saturday and Sunday of the summer holidays, with exceptions where events are taking place.

If you’d like to be considered, please complete the form below. Submissions will be reviewed weekly, and we will notify you of your slot within 3 weeks if your submission is successful.
