Rhubarb Festival Performance Commission

During February Half Term 2027, WX will be celebrating Wakefield's unique heritage as part of the famous Rhubarb Triangle. Alongside the annual Wakefield Rhubarb Festival, we will be welcoming visitors throughout the half term week.

We are seeking to commission three performers to deliver family-friendly performances during half term and the festival itself.

Whether you are a storyteller, musician, comedian, magician, poet or theatre-maker we are interested to hear from you!

Creative Wakefield

The Wakefield District is home to a diverse range of creative businesses and independent practitioners. Creative Wakefield exists to support to our vibrant creative sector.

Free to join, their growing network facilitates better connectivity within the creative industries. Connecting creatives with skills, jobs and opportunities providing tools for growth. All programmes are free or subsidised wherever possible.
 
Creative Wakefield brings together arts, culture, heritage, creative and digital industries with other sectors - including business, community, health, education and planning.
 
Their shared vision is to drive forward an outstanding quality of life for all. Our district is a happy, prosperous and welcoming place where culture and creativity is everywhere and for everyone.

Creative Exchange is a monthly event for Creative Wakefield Networkers + Wakefield Exchange.

  • Thinking of becoming a Creative Wakefield Networker and want to know more?

  • Seeking new opportunities or to make a creative connection?

These events are fun, free and everyone is welcome!

Past Creative Exchanges have included creative co-working, socials and exhibition previews!
